Meet Our Founder

Katrina Studvent is a 18 year breast cancer survivor, fundraising executive and founder of Blare, a non-profit dedicated to disrupting poor health outcomes by boldy sharing the personal narratives of those affected by chronic illnesses. Katrina brings nearly two decades of expertise in health education, prevention, cancer treatment advancements, and clinical research across southeastern Michigan and globally. With an impressive track record, including securing over $40 million for cancer research during her tenure as Chief Development Officer at Karmanos and as director of the Susan G. Komen Detroit Race for the Cure®, Katrina's commitment to inclusive research partnerships is underscored by her leadership in organizing the largest normal breast tissue collection event in our state's history. Active in cancer advocacy and care initiatives, she is also the chair of the Physical and Mental Health Committee of the Southfield Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Katrina's unwavering dedication to health equity drives her mission to empower under-resourced communities and amplify their voices as she aims to provide comprehensive direct social and emotional support to cancer patients, survivors, and their caregivers, helping them navigate their diagnosis and chronic illness journey.
